Gifts and Wounds

Healing and Creativity in Troubled Times

Michael Meade's new in-depth course explores the ancient understanding that each soul born bears both natural gifts and core wounds. As the world around us becomes more conflicted and divided, and we become more vulnerable to levels of anxiety and fear, our inner gifts try to become more conscious to us and our core wounds seek to be healed.

YOU WILL LEARN

  • How even the most caring parents inevitably betray the vulnerable souls of their children and do so with surprising accuracy.
  • How areas that become spell-bound in childhood turn out to be essential for emotional and spiritual growth later in life.
  • How woundedness is not a static state, but a dynamic condition through which we grow.
  • How attending to our inner wounds leads us to finding parts of ourselves that are not wounded.
  • How our inborn talents and gifts are intended to become channels through which vitality and creativity flow into our lives and also into the world.

COURSE OVERVIEW

An ancient understanding of human nature includes the sense that each soul born will bear both natural gifts and core wounds. As the world around us becomes more conflicted and divided and we become more vulnerable to levels of anxiety and fear, our inner gifts try to become more conscious to us and core wounds seek to be healed.

As many wisdom traditions illustrate, each person carries within the knowledge and medicine they most need. Yet, in order to activate the inner medicine we must face the inevitable traumas suffered early in life. The territory of gifts and wounds inevitably involves our parents and issues of family fate.

Fears of abandonment and overwhelm, along with family spells and neglect will arise again at each critical turning point in life. Not because we are deficient or somehow unworthy, but because the true adventure of life involves both awakening to our gifted nature and learning to heal from within.

In allowing ourselves to be vulnerable a deeper wisdom can come to us and live through us. When we invoke the archetypal energies of the wounded healer, our deepest wounds can be seen as a womb through which we become reborn as initiates taking up the paths of healing, transforming and becoming more creative.
