COURSE OVERVIEW

This in-depth course with Michael Meade explores how our first adventure entails growing up and making a life in terms of the outer world. While that struggle is necessary, the seeds of a greater adventure are planted within us, waiting to become conscious to us and blossom from within. For each person born is subject to a genuine calling and a life purpose that are aligned with the destiny of their soul.

The soul’s great adventure involves the heart’s hidden destiny, an “inner dharma” or natural way of being and of contributing to the world. The sense of having purpose and living with meaning is so important that our calling keeps calling throughout our life as each crisis we face can become a genuine turning point in our soul’s unique journey.

When the outer world becomes flooded with uncertainty and the future of the earth is in question, it becomes ever more important that we seek the soul’s great adventure in order to heal and to grow; but also to contribute to a renewal of life on Earth.

Part 2 - Q&A  with Michael Meade (VIDEO)

  • Question 1: Can the soul be lost? Do we inhibit its growth and prevent ourselves from grasping its eternal presence?
  • Question 2: How can we handle people who diminish our power without getting enraged at them? A therapist told me that I have a righteous indignance. Are we not all righteous philosophers, only indignant when others' views clash with our own?
  • Question 3: I'm almost 70 years old and I'm listening to the call towards the fire, but also wondering how to articulate a path for a fulfilling, meaningful future for young folks.
  • Question 4: Why does initiation involve being stripped of all comfort, knowing, and hope?
  • Question 5: With things seemingly falling apart every day, are we looking for the trouble in the world to teach us something?

Part 3 - Audio Recordings and Written Material (ASSETS)

  • Audio: Azi So Na - Full Song

Part 2 - Q&A  with Michael Meade (VIDEO)

  • Question 1: I find myself in this liminal space as I'm healing childhood trauma and letting go of the thoughts and patterns I believed kept me safe. Letting go is so scary without knowing what life might be on the other side. Does that make sense?
  • Question 2: Even if one person had a rough childhood with emotional neglect or grew up in a war zone, can that person still connect with their original gifts they came here with? And how do we do this without re-triggering the trauma?
  • Question 3: When at the crossroads of a crisis, how do we know if the purpose of our soul is to side with peace or side with confrontation? Since each person's soul is different, how do we know if our purpose is peaceful or to confront?
  • Question 4: Can you say more about the people around Eisik saying that his dream is not important or that is assigning too much meaning to the dream?

Part 3 - Audio Recordings and Written Material (ASSETS)

  • Audio: The Purpose Seeded in You
  • Audio: Mythic Dreaming

SESSION 3 - Betwixt and Between

Part 2 - Q&A  with Michael Meade (VIDEO)

  • Question 1: What if, after the first half of life, we still haven't found a way of fitting in? What place can the second adventure life have then?
  • Question 2: Can you share more about the ego's role on the soul's adventure? I don't want to make my ego a villain, just seeking to better understand its intentions in life.
  • Question 3: Where does one find hope that transformation is possible when facing a collective sense of loss of humanity amongst humans?
  • Question 4: Should we teach youth they are already whole and already enlightened or that they are wounded and need healing?
  • Question 5: How do I come in contact with my dream authentically, instead of being motivated by ego satisfaction?
  • Question 6: What if someone thought they were on their genius path, and then at 40 years of age, life and meaning seem to be changing so dramatically that the path one was on is no longer beautiful?
  • Question 7: I was a child in the 60s and never fully committed to either world, trying to live the second adventure, however naive, without really living the first adventure and flip flopping back and forth. How do I escape this maze?

  • Audio: Your Calling Keeps Calling
  • Audio: The Wisdom of Elders
  • Book Excerpt: The Two Agreements
  • Book Excerpt: A Hidden Message

SESSION 4 - The Journey Owns You

Part 1 - The Arc of Return (VIDEO)

  • Eisik's Dream - Traditional Jewish Folktale (Part 2)
  • Story Commentary

Part 2 - Q&A  with Michael Meade (VIDEO)

  • Question 1: Would you agree that as we awaken to our soul's journey, there are periods when we fall back to sleep? It seems important not to beat ourselves up over this. Becoming aware of being asleep at the wheel seems an important part of the journey.
  • Question 2: It seems that the risk of the second adventure is isolation from community. What can be done?
  • Question 3: Why does the inner critic wake up when we start to grow? What is the relationship between the soul's growth and the inner critic?

  • Question 3: What happens if someone has vitality in their soul but not in their body?
  • Question 4: Can you say more about vitality in the aging body?
