The original idea of genius refers to the inborn spirit and natural gifts of each person. In that sense, everyone has a genius nature and something essential to give to the world. There may be no greater time for people to awaken to the inner spark of genius than this period of worldwide crisis at so many levels of life. If we are to find creative ways of living together and healing both culture and nature, the awakening of individual genius may be the deepest, most imaginative way to approach the seemingly impossible tasks that face us all.

Resiliency amidst adversity is a hallmark of genius and an essential capacity for navigating a rapidly changing and confusing world. What we need now is the courage to follow our genius all the way to where it would lead us. When enough people awaken to the inner meaning and purpose in their lives, a collective shift of understanding can alter the course of history.
