A Multicultural Men's Retreat
DATE: Tuesday, August 18th - Sunday, August 23rd
LOCATION: Mendocino Woodlands, Mendocino, CA
Join mythologist and storyteller Michael Meade, poet and author Luis Rodriguez and musicians Duncan Allard and Kokou Katamani for an intensive 5-day retreat on the themes of finding gifts, healing wounds and following paths with heart.
As the outer world becomes increasingly divided and uncertainty about the future grows, a balancing imagination and energy for healing tries to awaken in each soul. For, the unity missing in the outside world must be found on the paths of heart and healing that lead to the deep self-center within each of us.
Wisdom traditions and mythic stories suggest that each person carries inner medicine and a deeper, knowing self that seeks to become more conscious to us at critical times. However, in order to activate the medicine and find genuine paths forward, we must enter the territory where our deepest wounds exist and our innate gifts reside.
Working with gifts and wounds means facing fears of abandonment and overwhelm, while also breaking spells and patterns that keep blocking the paths our souls would have us take. Our deepest wounds can be seen as the womb through which we become reborn as initiates on the paths of heart and soul.
Ultimately, we grow by letting go, by losing who we thought we were and allowing a deeper, wiser sense of self to unfold from within the creative hive of the heart..
Join us on this path of discovery with a diverse faculty who will present ideas and elements from tribal traditions, spiritual practices, psychological perspectives, and a rich array of personal experiences.
