A Retreat for Women, Men, Mentors and Teachers, Artists and Activists

Thursday, September 13 - Sunday, September 16

Pilgrim Firs Conference & Retreat Center, Port Orchard, WA

Join mythologist and storyteller Michael Meade for this intensive four-day retreat. Regardless of age or status, each person carries an innate connection to the accumulated treasure of the human soul. This inner inheritance includes surprising capacities for creation, but also instincts for survival and the energy needed for genuine transformation. In Greek myth the clue to finding a meaningful path was known as mitos, the holy thread and inner life-line of the soul.

The sense of inner abundance and genuine orientation is ever nearby; the problem is that the pathways to discovering it tend to be blocked by received ideas, early life traumas and over-adaptation to the needs of others. As in myths and initiation stories, it usually requires a profound conflict or pain for the psyche to open to the great energies at the soul’s center.

Repeatedly, we arrive at significant crossroads and crises that can become the life-changing moments in which the hidden inheritance of the soul tries to enter the world through us. Yet, only if we are willing to suffer the great emotions and constricting attitudes can we give birth to the abundance and unique meaning trying to be born from within.

Each realignment with our innate way of seeing and being becomes a renewal of the eternal youth and wise old sage dwelling at the heart’s center. As long as we trust this inner gradient we keep finding the soul’s path and emerge from life’s struggles with greater self-awareness and gifts to give. Only then can we deliver to a world ruled by scarcity and fear, the hidden abundance of the soul.
