The Soul of Change

In times of radical change a sense of collective anxiety and growing uncertainty can weigh heavily upon everyone. For, the conflicts and upheavals that trouble the outside world are also felt and experienced within us. If we cannot sustain the vitality of our own being we can find ourselves shrinking from life.

The soul is the part of us that cannot simply be overwhelmed. As the renewing force of our being, soul can turn strong emotions into vital life energies. As the “light hidden in darkness,” our soul is the source of both ancient wisdom and beginner’s mind. It is also the source of forgiveness and true self-acceptance.

As things fall apart, the wisdom of the soul seeks to become more conscious to us. The spirit of life and the genius of our soul can speak directly to us and reconnect us to all that is enduring and redemptive in life. Waking our underlying self and soul gives us purpose and creative agency and can also awaken hidden potentials in the world.
